Awakenings Book Review

Awakenings (Intertwined Souls Series Book 4)

By Mary D. Brooks

Historical lesbian romance in Post War Greece and Germany.   Secrets. Passion. Destiny.

In the fourth novel of the Intertwined Souls, Awakenings continues with Eva and Zoe's tumultuous journey to Greece and West Germany. They leave Greece with a new understanding of the past and a renewed purpose for their lives.

In Germany they discover unknown secrets and gifts that span generations. With hidden truths uncovered and a peek of their future, they can now work toward making their once impossible dreams come true.

***MY HONEST REVIEW OF AWAKENINGS***

Eva has had a life of pain and suffering for as long as she can remember. The majority of it came from her stepfather and his family. With her mother dead, her partner, Zoe, is the only family she has left as far as she is concerned. Now as she tries to move forward with Zoe, more family and secrets are revealed one by one, causing her to question everything she ever knew.

Even though this was the fourth book of this series, I was able to keep up with everything going on. I like that all the past happenings are explained throughout the plot, keeping me abreast of why things are the way they are. The characters of Eva and Zoe complimented each other, and I really liked them as a couple, which was a surprise to me. I wasn’t expecting much out of this story, but became thoroughly engrossed almost immediately. It had the right amount of sexual interaction for me to enjoy the entire read without distraction.
