East River Trust Review

East River Trust

By D.S. Cooper

While Detective Sean Lamont is patrolling The Lower East Side in Manhattan, his father Lieutenant Ted Lamont is shot and killed while patrolling Brooklyn. While Sean trusts that his dad was an honest cop, he can’t explain the large amount of cash that is found hidden in Ted’s garage walls. Did this have something to do with Ted’s murder? And what about Ted’s former stakeout squad who are acting suspiciously? Even though Sean tries to trust them, he knows that it’s up to him to solve Ted’s murder.

This murder mystery is well-written, and will keep you on the edge of your seat. There were mysteries within mysteries that had me guessing to the end. I like books that present a story that unfolds within true historical events, this one being Hurricane Sandy. I’m glad the author allowed me to see two opposing feelings that cop’s wives feel.

About the Author

Douglas S. Cooper: A full time airport bum and part time writer, living in Bristol Rhode Island, USA.

Since I've always worked and played outdoors (I am an Ocean Master of Steam and Auxiliary Sailing Vessels, and a licensed Commercial Pilot for airplanes) my writing often brings the reader into the wild corners of the the sea and the sky, where my characters feel most at home. I like surprises, and I love to write about ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances, who are doing their damnedest to be kind to each other, while shying away from the spotlight and staying out of the headlines. When it comes to genres, I like to mix it up, from crime drama to mysteries to thrilling action, and on occasion, I'll even venture into the realm of the paranormal. What I hope remains constant are my characters, who are often flawed, sometimes quirky, and who have a knack for popping in and out of each other's stories and lives.
